Weird Speaker Problem

Postby tyler_waite on Wed Apr 14, 2010 1:00 am

Another new issue from one of my Enduro cabinets: Both speakers in the cabinet are acting up. Sometime when I turn it on, there is a bunch of garbled audio that pretty much sounds like someone fast forwarding through a tape/cassette. After a few seconds, that stops and then just a single pitch goes through the speakers. It almost seems that if you accelerate in the game the pitch becomes higher. Would this be the amp or what? Could it be a fuse? Also, it could be irrelevant, but there is a two pin molex connector attached to wires that lead to the transformer(?) and a fuse holder. Since I put it back together, I can't find out where it goes for the life of me.

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Wow, that sound scared the hell outta me. ;)

I can't say nothing else than inspect the pcb for broken/burnt stuff. Very hard problem to troubleshoot. If it was only that static noise, it could have been a power issue, but that "skipping" noise .. Beats me.. Sorry, but I have no idea at all.
