Hi Dekar,

I'm interested in building an arcade on my own, I came across this post and decided it is a good base for mine but I have a question.

I used 38mm between hole centers in the player buttons (1.5in) and it looks ok in Inventor, but how does it feel when playing? what distance is the joystick center from the first button? I have it 80mm apart (3.125in).. 76mm to the side and 22mm up.

How heavy is it with monitor and all? how do you move it? I like this design because I can alter it easily to make it tool-less to connect or disconnect the top part

Also I was wondering about the monitor, I went to WG website and could not find any diagrams for mounting depth, width, height, etc.. all I did was simulate a 27 4:3 rectangle to more or less visualized, is there a certain standard for this? Or do you have information for the mounting depth and where the screws go? Is it a standard frame for several monitor sizes?

thanks!

here is what i have come up with so far, the height seems a bit off, if i look at the monitor inside from the side, but I don't know if 27 is the total length or just the visible part.

oh my god, i can't use a link and the image is huge, here is for copy paste:

Heya Gomad!

Well it's pretty damn heavy with the monitor and all components. I have sold my cab so I don't remember exact, but it's so heavy you can barely move it on your own. So you don't exactly want to carry it around much..

I believe the WG D9800 that I used is out of production, so unless you can find one on EBay then you better go with a Makvision or a Happ monitor instead. Just make sure it's a 15khz tri-sync (CGA/EGA/VGA) and supports at least 640x480 (although 800x600 is preferred).

I think you may want to contact North Coast for the dimensions. I don't have them around here anymore unfortunately.

Good luck with your project!
