NBA Jam parts to remove?

Postby oneway on Sun Nov 29, 2009 3:48 pm

Hello

You guys have talked me into converting my cab into MAME, really wasn't hard I have been wanting to build one for years! And this Cab fell into my lap.

Can I remove all the componets (sound board, pcb, power supply, speakers) out of my cab except for the controls?

I have an older pc that I use as a Jukebox, I will install this into the cab.

Thanks for the help. :)

Basically, yes. I don't think you will have much use of any of the components except for the control panel. I'm not sure how the NBA Jam is assembled, but do the speakers have a separate amplifier? If so, there is really no need to rip them out as you can use them for the mame cab. You could also buy a small amplifier for the speakers and connect them to the PC's soundcard with a 3,5" minijack.

Remember you will need an iPac4 in order to connect all the microswitches on your 4-player control panel.
