Midway start button question

Postby c-mae on Sat Jan 08, 2011 1:42 am

Hello All,

I'm building my first classic arcade- Jamma Cocktail based on original PacMan- I'm finishing up the wiring and need a bit of help. Used cherry microswitches from Happ for all buttons save the start buttons. I wanted the classic Midway start button look. The buttons have (3) terminals marked "A", "B", and "C". I'm assuming that the "C" is for ground, the "A" is for normally open and the "B" is for normally closed. Can anyone confirm this or set me straight? Thanks!

Hi c-mae,

There are two types of cherry switches. Normally open is always 'B', ground/common is A or C depending on what type of cherry switch you're using. Can you post a picture?

Hmm .. Yet another type of Cherry switch I see.. :)

In this case, the common ground is the one that is "by itself" (rotated differently than the two others). I have no idea which of the remaining two is the NA switch though. I think you just will have to test it yourself. If it's not the one, it's the other. Can't go wrong with that. :)

Funny how new things tend to make one forget that one might be able to easily figure it out oneself. Now I AM that person! Sheesh. Thanks again leo.
