I recently got my hands on a GT Fore Complete cabinet. It wouldn't boot up when I got it as it was hanging on the partition checks so I was pretty sure that the hard drive was dead. I had a CHD of the drive as I had previously replaced the drive in this cabinet. I dumped the CHD to a 40GB laptop drive and connected it up with a 2.5" IDE to 3.5" IDE adaptor. When the machine powers on, it goes through the check of the 3 partitions and then just hangs after (previously it was hanging on the partition checks)
It appears as if it passes the 3 partition checks but i can't figure out why it won't start up. Any thoughts?
On a side note, I want to eventually replace the hard drive with compact flash but am unsure of what size and speed to get? The CHD is 6.5GB, but I'm not sure how big the actual data is after its uncompressed. Do I need to go with an 8GB and 16GB?
cheers,
