I am converting a Gauntlet to a TMNT, and am having monitor issues. I believe this is due to Gauntlet being high res and TMNT being std res. How can i use a high res monitor with a std res board? thanks

If your monitor is purely high res you simply can't use it without some sort of converter. Your best bet is picking up a suitable monitor on eBay. There are dozens of them there. Good luck!
