moon patrol pcb - no video and sound output

Postby ohne_zucker on Sat Mar 27, 2010 11:08 am

hello,
i do have a (perhaps) original moon patrol pcb. it looks ok, no parts are missing, nothing seems to be broken off.
i use a tft-display, which usually shows "no signal" when the video-source (pcb) is turned off.
when i turn on the psu, i get no video or sound output. the screen remains black, but at least the "no signal" message disappears. so - anything seems to happen - the pcb is not completely dead. fortunately there's no smoke or smell from the pcb either.
i already checked the ics on a socket and cleaned the pins. i modified the voltage from 4.5 to 5.7v in small steps but without any result.
does someone have an idea? are there any typical moon patrol pcb problems?
picture of the pcb is attached
thanks a lot for your help

Heya and welcome to AF!

Hmm .. It sounds like you've done a lot of checking up already without success. Usually it might be burn-ins which are causing such problems but you should be able to locate it (sometimes you can even smell it). I'm not really a fan of Moon Patrol and I've never owned one such PCB, but hopefully someone else here is able to help you.
