Very cool! I wish I could do that!

I have an old broken Pac-Man machine in my basement.

All it needs is a new display, cause the old one has a burn in...

Looks great. Did you put anything like plexi-glass over the control panel? I hate plexi and when it's time, I don't want to put any on there, but I worry about durability.

I didn't use plexi on this one and it's not really needed if you use a high quality CP overlay. The overlay I used here is polycarbonate coated, which is the same material used in bulletproof vests and it is very durable.

I like plexi though, so I am planning on using it on my next cab, but if you're not a fan of it, you can easily skip it. :)

I guess if its strong enough for a bullet proof vest, it should be strong enough for a home use control panel.

HI Dekar,

Sorry to bother you but since you've been around this type of thing for longer than me. As mentioned in the post above me and my friends are trying to restore a few cabinets. Where would you suggest I by spare parts from, as I tried a cheap place I found on the internet called happmart.com and I ordered some parts a few weeks back, and they confirm my order, the money went out of my account but I've never received a confirmation of shipping.

What's worse is there won't even reply to my e-mails now. I guess it's really a case of Buyer Beware with some companies.

Thanks in advance.

Hi blooddrake,

I'm sorry to hear you never got your parts and you might even have been ripped off. :( Feel free to post your experience here on the forum in a separate post to warn others from ordering from happmart.

For me, there are only 2 major arcade part vendors; ultimarc.com and happcontrols.com. Both of these are great vendors with several years in the game and you can safely order from any of them.

I'd personally recommend Ultimarc.com though, as they have very quick delivery times and Andy is a very friendly and helpful guy. :)

Hi Dekar,

Thanks for your reply, yes I get the ripped off feeling too. Thanks for the links and your recommendation, I will discuss will my friends and see where they wish to go from, here.

Also I'll take your advice about posting a warning about happmart.com in a seperate thread, I wouldn't want the other users at this board to have the same experience as I did, thanks again.
