Arcade desire! Is it possible?

Postby M4l0R4L on Wed Jan 12, 2011 3:51 pm

Hi,
Im interested on buying an arcade. What I would like to have is an arcade machine where I could have a good set o games to play like virtua tennis, virtua soccer, street fighter, tekken, etc. I would like to have a system that could allow me to buy a new game (old game...just new for me) any given time and just replace the drive to change between games.
Does that exists?

I would really enjoy to have an arcade machine on my living room with some set of really nice classical games! :)

Thanks,
Nuno

It's very well possible.

You have several alternatives though:

I. A JAMMA-based cabinet (based off a jamma pcb, where you can replace jamma cartridges when you want to swap games)

II. A xxx-in-1 Jamma PCB (several games in one jamma pcb)

III. A MAME-based arcade cabinet. This is the very best option for newbs I believe, as you can have a full set of arcade games in the same machine.

Have a look at this project for inspiration:
